Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP)

KAP is a holistic modality that combines talk therapy with doctor-prescribed safe & legal ketamine with the depth and support of psychotherapy to help eligible patients experience profound breakthroughs and lasting improvement.  This combination helps people access deeper emotional insights, break through stuck patterns, supports healing, and create meaningful change.

"When combined with psychotherapy, Ketamine is the most important breakthrough in antidepressant treatment in decades.”

-Thomas Insel, former head of the National Institute of Mental Health

I specialize in KAP in partnership with doctors who expertly handle the medical component of Ketamine treatment, ensuring a safe and legal therapeutic experience.

I provide the psychotherapy and integration support—offering a calm, grounded space for preparation, reflection and emotional processing so you can integrate your experience into everyday life with greater self-awareness.

Please Note: I do not prescribe or administer ketamine. All medical decisions are made by licensed healthcare providers with whom I partner with as part of the therapeutic process.

Let's talk about KAP

What is Ketamine?

Ketamine is a legal, FDA-approved medication that has been used safely for decades in medical settings. In recent years, it has also gained recognition for its potential to support mental health treatment—particularly for conditions like depression, anxiety, and post-traumatic stress—when used under the care of a licensed medical provider.

  • Ketamine is a FDA-approved medication first used in 1962 as a safer alternative to then-available anesthetics.
  • It's considered so safe by anesthesiologists that it's routinely used on children for surgery.
  • It has rapid antidepressant and mood-enhancing effects, often noticeable within hours and can last for weeks.
  • It works by targeting the neurotransmitter glutamate, which influences mood and thought patterns.
  • It promotes neuroplasticity — the brain's ability to form new connections. For some clients, this can open space for greater emotional flexibility, insight, and healing—especially when combined with intentional therapeutic support.

What Might the Experience Feel Like?

The effects of ketamine typically last around 45 minutes, and many clients describe the experience as gentle, introspective, or emotionally expansive. Some people feel a sense of distance from everyday thoughts or bodily sensations, while others report shifts in perspective or increased access to emotions and memories.

During your session, you’ll be in a comfortable, supported setting—lying down, eyes covered if you choose, with calming music to support the experience. I’ll be present throughout, offering quiet support or therapeutic guidance, depending on your preferences and needs.

After the medicine effects have worn off, we’ll shift into initial integration—processing any thoughts, feelings, or imagery that surfaced and exploring how they may relate to your personal healing path. Some clients find it difficult to put the experience fully into words, but still report feeling clear about what emerged or what it meant.

While every experience is unique, research suggests that ketamine’s benefits on mood and brain functioning can extend beyond the session itself—especially when paired with ongoing therapy and support.

Integration Sessions

A few days after your dosing session, we’ll meet for one or more integration sessions—this is where we explore the meaning of what came up, gently process emotions or imagery, and begin applying insights to your life. Integration is where much of the healing takes root.

These sessions help you:

  • Reflect on what came up during your journey
  • Process emotions, images, or insights
  • Explore how the experience connects to your goals and day-to-day life
  • Prepare for future sessions if you choose to continue

Integration is where real, lasting change often begins to take shape.

The heart behind this work:

Experiencing the therapeutic benefits Ketamine treatment inspired me to complete advanced training in KAP.

My passion for KAP was sparked by a deep curiosity about how this breakthrough treatment could unlock insights and lasting healing. As I explored the powerful research behind ketamine’s ability to treat depression, trauma, and anxiety, I felt a profound sense of hope—and excitement—for what this could mean for so many people who’ve felt stuck for far too long.

As I explored the powerful research behind ketamine’s ability to treat depression, trauma, and anxiety, I felt a profound sense of hope—and excitement—for what this could mean for so many people who’ve felt stuck for far too long. That journey led me to experience KAP for myself—and what I discovered was profound: a new level of insight and emotional renewal that reached places traditional therapy often struggles to unlock.

I’m honored to support my clients as they tap into this incredible tool for healing—drawing on my expertise to help them prepare with intention, process their experiences with care, and integrate lasting change into their everyday lives.
