Reclaim Your Story. Heal at Your Own Pace.

Therapy for the Wounds That Don’t Show on the Outside

Trauma can linger in the body, the mind, and the nervous system—long after the threat is gone. Traumatic experiences can change the way we see ourselves, our relationships, and the world around us.

I combine proven trauma treatments with a compassionate, whole-person approach—supporting you in making sense of what you’ve been through and finding your way forward with clarity and care.

My work is rooted in over nearly two decades of experience supporting trauma survivors—from women healing after relationship abuse, military veterans navigating PTSD and Military Sexual Trauma, and people who've experienced devastating loss.

Healing starts with feeling safe and supported in the here and now.

Trauma therapy doesn’t require you to revisit every detail of your past. Our work can focus on what’s affecting you today—whether it’s emotional numbness, relationship patterns, panic, or chronic tension.

Connect with Malissa

Healing doesn’t mean forgetting. It means learning how to live with your experiences in a way that doesn’t dominate your life or define your future.

Signs You Might Benefit from Trauma Focused Therapy

You may feel on edge, emotionally numb, exhausted, or like you’re always waiting for something bad to happen. These aren’t flaws—they’re survival responses. Trauma therapy can help you shift from reactivity to resilience, with support that honors how your brain and body have adapted.

You don’t need a specific diagnosis or a “big T” trauma to seek support. If you recognize yourself in any of the following, trauma therapy may help:

  • You feel stuck in patterns of anxiety, shame, or self-blame

  • You avoid certain people, places, or conversations

  • You struggle with emotional numbness or intense reactivity

  • You have trouble trusting others or setting boundaries

  • You experience nightmares, flashbacks, or intrusive thoughts

  • You’re tired of surviving and ready to start truly living

Trauma can show up subtly or in overwhelming ways.

Both deserve attention, care, and healing.

Healing Tools We May Use Together

Some of the modalities I integrate into  trauma therapy include:

  • Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT)
  • Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT)
  • Neuroplasticity principles to help clients rewire trauma-related thought patterns and behaviors
  • Practices like Yoga and Mindfulness
  • Intentional breathing techniques to help calm the nervous system
  • Journaling and Expressive Arts
  • For some clients, Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) may also be an option to support deeper healing

Together, we’ll create a safe, grounded space where healing unfolds at your pace.
